The UJO provides conflict mediation and advocacy services to people in need of assistance with dispute resolution.

In addition the UJO advocates on behalf of constituents dealing with federal, state and city governments as well as the governments of foreign nations.

The UJO Director of Community and Intergovernmental Affairs assists with claims to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Environmental Control Board (ECB), and represents the Williamsburg community working for communal projects.
