Socials Services
Public Assistance: information, referral and application assistance for entitlement benefits including SSI, SSD, Social Security, Food Stamps, Welfare programs, Medicaid and Medicare. UJO advocates and case manages for individuals, families and seniors regarding these government benefits.

Crisis Management: emergency assistance for families and individuals in crisis.

Immigration Services: information and application assistance for unification of families, as well as preparations for citizenship.

Medical Coverage: information, counseling, advocacy and enrollment services, through the Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program and the Medicaid Choice Education Project, for individuals and families joining
health insurance programs such as Medicaid ,
Family Health Plus and Child Health Plus.

Housing Assistance: help with applying for government-subsidized housing, eviction prevention in city and private developments, and the application process for Section 8 rental assistance with city and state agencies.

Legal Assistance: a free Legal Services clinic operates on site at the UJO.

Food Services: Meals-on-Wheels are delivered to elderly and homebound persons. UJO operates a free food Pantry and provides food vouchers at local food centers.

We Care, Nutritional sevices: Nutitional consultations provided to individuals. Nutrition seminars for community groups, senior citizen centers and schools.

Children Services
We Care, Yeled V’Yalda Early Head Start Program: home based services for families of infants and toddlers, socialization center for toddlers and their families, comprehensive maternal health program and parenting classes.

On-Site Government Services

HEAP: HRA representatives assist clients in applying for HEAP, a government program that provides funds for gas and electric bills. | Department of Motor Vehicles: DMV representatives assist clients apply for and receive non-drivers ID cards and license renewals.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority: MTA representatives assist clients apply for and receive discounted metrocards.
